1951 Topps Ringside cards are the gold standard for vintage boxing cards with original illustrations on the front of each card and bios on the rear.
The 96 card checklist was originally released in two evenly split series’ with Series Two cards being more difficult to acquire in modern days.
Some cards may have perforated edges as they were released as two-card panels. Also, the dimensions for these cards are slightly smaller than modern cards.
Collectors seeking highly graded cards should prepare to spend a considerable amount of money and time tracking down the best. In November, 2019, a Rocky Marciano (#32) card sold for $1,750 with a PSA grade of 8. It’s also not uncommon to find ungraded cards in varying degrees of quality sell for over $100.
Cards 49, 55, 61, and 89 are short-prints from the already smaller production run of Series Two.
