Atlanta Braves
The Atlanta Braves were founded in 1871 as the Boston Red Stockings. Between their formation and 1941 they were also known as the Red Caps, Beaneaters, Doves, Rustlers, and Bees. For a period between 1912-1935 they were actually known as the Braves but it wasn’t until 1941 that the name stuck.
In 1953 the team moved to Milwaukee where they played until 1966 when they finally became the Atlanta Braves.
The franchise has three World Series wins (1914, 1957, 1995) and won the NL East division 11 consecutive seasons between 1995 and 2005.
