1952 Topps Wings trading cards, often labeled as “Friend or Foe”, showcased the latest in aviation technology from many countries. There were 200 different aircraft featured in the set and the reverse of each card showed a silhouette of that specific plane so young jet-watchers could identify the plane from the ground and determine if it was “friend or foe”.
It is widely believed that this set’s release spanned several years. As such, it’s not uncommon to see this set listed as a 1953 release. Collector’s should note that Topps did not release an aviation set in 1953 and any cards sold as such are almost certainly from this set.
