1951 Bowman football cards marked a first for Bowman in that the card design differed from its baseball counterpart from the same year. To this point, Bowman utilized a singular design for an entire year’s worth of releases, often including their non-sports offerings, too.
The checklist includes 144 cards including the rookie cards for Hall of Fame inductees, Norman Van Brocklin, Tom Landry, Arnold Weinmeister, Ed Sprinkle, Louis Creekmur, Emlen Tunnell, and Ernest Stautner. The card dimensions are an unconventional 2 1/8″ by 3 1/8″.
