Five new cards have been added to the Topps Now series of trading cards to commemorate some of the highlights of 2018’s third day of baseball. Card subjects include Ichiro Suzuki, Xander Bogaerts, Kevin Pillar, Christian Yelich, and Adam Eaton. A full checklist of Topps Now cards is available on the main page of this hub but this wave of cards is as follows:

  • 15 – Ichiro (Mariners) hasn’t missed a beat in his return to Seattle as he robbed Jose Ramirez of a home run in the third inning of game three. He also logged his first two hits of the season during the game.
  • 16 – Adam Eaton (Nationals) went 5 for 5 with two doubles, one home run, and three RBI in his second game of the season to help the Nationals to a 13-7 victory over the Reds. As a leadoff hitter, Eaton has a career batting line of .288/.362/.420 and has started 85% of his career in the top spot.
  • 17 – Kevin Pillar (Blue Jays) made history for the Toronto Blue Jays by stealing three bases in the same inning. Following a homer by Yangervis Solarte and a strike out by Randal Grichuk, Pillar singled to right field. Aledmys Diaz followed him with a strike out but while Luke Maile was at bat, Pillar stole second. With Gift Ngoepe in the box, Pillar stole third (Maile also stole second) and then followed that with a steal of home which gave room for Maile to take third on a throwing error. It was the first time in Toronto history that a player has stolen three bases in the same inning.
  • 18 – Christian Yelich (Brewers), like Eaton, went 5 for 5 against the Padres. Yelich had one double and two RBI in the team’s 7-3 win over the Padres.
  • 19 – Xander Bogaerts (Red Sox) set a Boston record for beginning the season with three consecutive games of extra-base hits. Over the first three games, Bogaerts has five doubles and a home run. He has also scored four runs and not logged a strike out for a three-day OPS of 2.000.

All of these cards are available for 24 hours and print runs are limited to consumer demand. Final print runs will be added to our main checklist when they are announced by Topps. Use any of the Topps Now links on this page to be taken directly to purchase pages and a portion of your purchase will benefit charity.
