For fans of Adult Swim’s hit animated comedy, Rick and Morty, waiting for season three to finally begin airing just got a little easier thanks to Funko’s release of Rick and Morty characters to many of their toy lines.
Cartoon Network Enterprises named Funko as the master toy partner for the television franchise and the characters will eventually feature in most, if not all, of Funko’s popular lines. Beginning in April, Funko will release Rick and Morty Pop Keychains, Galactic Plushies, Pop figurines, and Mystery Minis. Five inch fully-posable action figures will be released in May and other items, such as novelty housewares and home decor, will roll out as the year continues.
The first wave of Pop figures, which are included in the Animation line (checklist under the tab at the top of this page), include the following characters.
- 172 – Weaponized Rick
- 172 – Weaponized Rick (Open Mouth)
- 173 – Weaponized Morty
- 174 – Mr. Meeseeks
- 174 – Mr. Meeseeks (w/ Gun)
- 175 – Squanchy
- 176 – Birdperson
- 177 – Mr. Poopy Butthole
- 178 – Snowball
- 180 – Mr. Meeseeks (w/ Box)
- 206 – Mr. Poopy Butthole (Bleeding)
The variants for figure 172 and 174 are regular chase figures randomly distributed in the regular rotation. Figure 180 is a Barnes and Noble exclusive and 206 can be purchased at Hot Topic.
With the incredible popularity of this show and expansive nature of this license, it is fair to assume that there will be several retail and comic con exclusives added to this collection over the next few years. Our checklist will be constantly updated with new additions to the Pop and Dorbz lines.
The action figures, which feature several points of articulation, will initially be available as Rick, Morty, Mr. Poopy Butthole (a phrase I never envisioned writing more than once on this website), Mr. Meeseeks, and Birdperson. If you collect all five figures you will be able to build a sixth action figure of Snowball.
